Activities/Athletics
Middle school offers a wide array of activities and athletic opportunities for students to actively participate, catering to their unique interests and talents. Students can choose from a variety of enrichment programs, allowing them to explore their passions and develop new skills outside of the traditional classroom setting. EMS offers a diverse selection of athletic teams providing students with the chance to engage in competitive sports and showcase their athletic abilities.
Being involved in these activities is crucial to their personal growth and development. By participating, students learn essential life skills such as teamwork, time management, and problem-solving. Additionally, extracurricular activities promote a sense of belonging and an opportunity for new friendships and create a positive social environment. Engaging in physical activities through athletic endeavors promotes physical fitness, boosts confidence, and improves overall well-being.
All participants in sports (including cheer) must have a KSHSAA physical on file. Please double check that the physical is completed prior to turning it in to the EMS office, this includes student and parent signatures on the front and last page.
All student athletes in grades 7 and 8 must have a Concussion Safety Waiver on file before the student participates in any athletic or spirit practice or contest each school year. Please double check that all areas are filled in prior to turning it in to the EMS office, this includes student and guardian signatures on the last page.
Students also need a Student Care and Safety form (Emergency Medical Treatment) on file; this is filled out on PowerSchool.
